Students are permitted to work part-time during their studies. While this can supplement expenses, it shouldn’t be relied upon as the main source of income. Proficiency in Spanish can also enhance part-time job opportunities.
Health Insurance
Students from the EU/EEA can access healthcare in Spain using their EHIC card at the same cost as Spanish citizens.
Non-EU students must arrange private health insurance before applying for their student visa — this is a mandatory requirement.
Student Visas for Spain
Visa requirements depend on nationality:
- EU/EEA/Swiss students: No visa required. Must register with local authorities within 3 months of arrival.
- Non-EU students: A student visa is required for stays longer than 90 days.
Applications should be made at your nearest Spanish embassy or consulate, and you’ll need an official acceptance letter from your chosen university.
It’s also recommended to arrange accommodation in advance, as you may need to provide proof of residence during your visa process.
